The Central Chhatra League has expelled six Chhatra League workers in connection with the torture of two journalists in Dhaka College. This information was informed on Saturday night in a statement signed by Central Office Secretary Meftahul Islam Panth.

According to the statement, Bangladesh Chhatra League, in accordance with the urgent decision of the central executive parliament, it is being informed that in view of the recent untoward incident, Raufur Rahman Sohel (activist, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka) has been charged with being involved in anti-organizational, anti-discipline, criminal and activities that undermine the dignity of the organization. College Branch), ABM Alamin (Active, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka College Branch), Sajib Ahsan (Active, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka College Branch), Abrar Hossain Sagar, Worker, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka College Branch), Syed Abdullah Shubo (Active , Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka College Branch) and Fahmid Hasan Palash (Activist, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Dhaka College Branch) were expelled from Bangladesh Chhatra League.

It should be noted that before this, Obaidur Saeed, the office secretary of the Dhaka College Journalist Association and the representative of Bangla Tribune, was tortured after 12 o’clock last Thursday night. At one stage he was locked in the room by some other workers led by Chhatra League worker Raufur Rahman Sohel. After 15 hours of detention and torture, he was taken to the principal’s room around noon on Friday. A few hours later, the family members rescued him and took him home.

His phone was taken away. Later, after noon on Saturday, he got the phone back. Dhaka college administration has formed an investigation committee in this incident.

Earlier, another campus reporter, Faisal Ahmed, was beaten up in the hall of Dhaka College by a group of workers of the college branch Chhatra League last Wednesday night for not going to the ‘guest room’. Obaidur alleged that he was beaten up under the leadership of Chhatra League leader Raufur Rahman for reporting this.

At present there is no committee of Dhaka College Branch Chhatra League. Central Chhatra League has not given any committee to the college after 2017. The accused is a student of the 2011-12 session of Raufur Rahman College. He is a candidate for the post of president and general secretary.
