Afridi is getting the responsibility of Babar Azam!

Since last year’s World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been coming up with various surprises to build a new team. The PCB has already started taking many steps.

The PCB has announced two new coaches for Babar Azam. It is learned that for the first time a power hitting coach will be hired for the national team. Coaches will also be appointed for the High Performance Unit.

Meanwhile, after the decision of the country’s cricket board, former captain and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi is going to be the new power hitting coach of the country.

Afridi, however, said in the wake of such rumors, he had not been offered any by the board. He said, if anyone contacts me in this regard, I will tell you the details.

Meanwhile, Afridi will play for Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming PSL. The legendary all-rounder can end his cricket career with this season of PSL.

Afridi last played international cricket for Pakistan in 2016. The 41-year-old star has been playing PSL since then. Afridi has played 36 Tests for Pakistan in his international career. He has also played 398 ODIs and 99 T20I matches.

Meanwhile, acting coach of the Pakistan national cricket team Saqlain Mushtaq has resigned, the board said. Saqlain announced his resignation as coach shortly after the series against the West Indies. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Saqlain has been appointed as the acting coach for the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh tour and the West Indies series at home.

Earlier on Saturday (January 1), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja had hinted that a foreigner would be appointed as the next head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. Ramiz Raja then said, “I have discussed the future of Pakistan’s team management with Saqlain, Babar Azam and Rizwan and everyone is interested in hiring foreign coaches.”

After the T20 World Cup, Pakistan did not have a head coach in the Test series against Bangladesh and the T20 series against the West Indies. Saqlain Mostaq was acting as the interim coach.

So Ramiz Raja said that they did not appoint any coach to understand how the team is ready to stand on its own feet. However, they have admitted that they need a foreign coach in the coming days. Saqlain Mostak’s resignation is a process of appointing a new coach.
