Bangladesh fast bowlers are not able to take advantage of the green wicket of Hagley Oval in Christchurch against New Zealand. Despite losing one wicket in the Kiwi camp, the Kiwi captain Tom Latham and Devon Conway continue to dominate the Bangladeshi bowlers.
Before the tea break, New Zealand overcame two hundred (202) houses by one wicket. Latham is batting with 116 and Conway with 26 runs against Bangladesh. Latham completed his century at the start of the second session. He hit 17 fours off 133 balls to score a century. However, with six runs away from the century, Tiger pacer Shariful Kiwi got a chance to pick up the captain.
Latham could not play Shariful’s bouncer properly. That’s why the ball hits the bat and goes up a lot. Bangladeshi fielders ran but could not reach him. Shariful was the first to hit the Kiwi camp. He turned Kiwi opener Will Young into a victim. Young was out for 54 runs. He had 5 fours in 114 balls in his innings.
The Kiwi camp scored about 150 runs without wickets against the Tigers. New Zealand scored 146 runs before losing the first wicket. Despite getting one wicket, Bangladesh bowlers did not have any scary spell in the first session. With the exception of a few overs of Ebadat, the hero of the first Test victory, he was quite expensive. Before the lunch break, Taskin scored 33 runs in 10 overs, Shariful scored 26 runs in 9 overs and Ebadat Hossain scored 32 runs in 8 overs.
However, Ebadat brought success to the Tigers with the ball in hand. He lbw Tom Latham in the second ball of the ninth over. But the Kiwi captain survived the review. Ebadat hit again in the fifth ball of the same over. I will kill his victim again. The Kiwi captain was saved in the review again. The Kiwi captain became aggressive as soon as he got his life. Playing in ODI mood, he completed his half century with only 75 balls. Will Young, on the other hand, is watching and playing. Latham made 6 off 63 balls till the lunch break.
Earlier, Tiger captain Mominul Haque decided to bowl first after winning the toss. There have been two changes in the Bangladesh team since the first Test XI. On the other hand, the Kiwis took to the field with a change.
