Begum Zia’s treatment abroad is now a demand of the masses: Fakhrul

Begum Zia’s treatment abroad is now the demand of the masses. The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has claimed that the spontaneous presence of the people in various programs of the BNP proves that. He made the remarks at a press conference held at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday (January 2nd).

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at Evercare, has been demanding her release and treatment abroad since she was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.

Fakhrul said, I have ended this rally with great success. The people participated spontaneously. This proves that people do not want to see Awami League for a moment.

The BNP secretary general said, “Our program has been thwarted by the leaders and activists of the ruling party and members of the law enforcement agencies.” Attacked our leaders and activists, fired shots, stopped vehicles. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person.

He said that some people lost their eyes in the incident of Habiganj. There are still a few arrests. Besides, cases have been filed against two thousand people. Rally has been held in Feni, Jessore ignoring section 144. The rally was stopped in Thakurgaon. The latest thing that has happened in Sirajganj is purely terrorist activity. There have been 6 cases from the police and Awami League. The pictures of the armed men that have been published in the media are of the leaders of Chhatra League and Juba League. No case has been registered against the illegal gunmen. They should be arrested immediately and brought under the law.

The BNP secretary general further said that it has been proved that the people of this country do not want this government. People want the release of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at this moment, they want to send her abroad for better treatment. But the Midnight government wants to avoid that and implement a blueprint for one-party rule.

“We want to say firmly, people have woken up,” he said. People will realize their democratic demands. Democracy will be restored.

The BNP secretary general demanded medical treatment for the injured BNP leaders and activists, release of those arrested and withdrawal of false charges.

BNP standing committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, organizing secretary Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shamsuddin Didar, Shairul Kabir Khan and others were present at the press conference.
