Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed said the franchises were leaning towards junior cricketers in domestic competitions to compete with the seniors.
Nasum was the direct signing of Chittagong Challengers in BPL, so the Sylhet A cricketer did not forget to express his gratitude to the owner. Shamim-Afif, Nasum is waiting for something great about the unit that has been formed with young people like Shariful. However, there was no legspinner in the team, so there was a little regret in his voice.
Nasum came as a big surprise before the BPL draft. Chittagong Challengers were the exception when big stars and senior cricketers were running behind Khulna, Barisal and Dhaka. Before the draft, they fielded Sylhet left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed as the only local cricketer to sign.
The cricketer showed his Munsiana for the Chattala team last season, so the franchise has confidence in him in the new season. Although the matter is good, the spinner thinks that it has increased the pressure a bit. However, as the Chittagong and Sylhet franchises rely on the relatively young crowd of senior cricketers, Nasum sees the issue as positive.
Chittagong Challengers cricketer Nasum Ahmed said, “Alhamdulillah, in the belief that they have signed me, I will fulfill their wish inshallah.” Even though we have senior players, it still took us a chance to prove ourselves.
There is no senior cricketer of Bangladesh national team in Chittagong squad. A group of young cricketers have gathered at the Challengers camp. There are regular performers of domestic cricket like Naeem and Sabbir. Nasum hopes this team will do something great.
Nasum Ahmed said, “We have become a balance team in all aspects of bowling side or batting side.” The team has been really good. Seen from the outside, it seems that there are more young people here. The team has a lot of talented players. There are Patwari, Afif and Shariful.
However, not all that is good. Chittagong did not take any leg spinner from outside the draft. The matter has created regret in Nasum’s mind. He thinks that in order to maintain balance, one can rely on a leg.
“They have to believe first,” he said. If you don’t trust them, they won’t do well.
Nasim’s Chittagong Challengers will face Shakib-Gayle’s Fortune Barisal in the opening match of BPL 2022.
Bangladesh young spinner Nasum Ahmed has been nominated for the ICC Cricketer of the Month for September. In the short list, Bangladesh’s Nasum was accompanied by US batsman Jaskaran Malhotra and Nepal’s spinner Sandeep Lamisane. A shortlist of three is selected and one is given the best prize.
Lamichane has shed light on the ICC World Cup League-2. He has taken 18 wickets in six ODIs. He took 6 wickets for 11 runs against Papua New Guinea. US batsman Jaskaran Malhotra scored 261 runs in 6 matches in the same tournament. However, Sandeep got the highest number of votes.
Meanwhile, Nasum is one of the best performers of Bangladesh in the last series against New Zealand last September. He took 6 wickets in 5 matches.
