New law to protect children from porn

New internet security laws in the UK require users to verify the age of users of pornographic websites. The law has been enacted to protect children from obscene material in the internet world. Those who disobey the law will face punishment

The age verification provision has also been added as part of the draft online security law. Eighteen-year-olds or older need to prove they have a credit card. Or need to make sure through third party services, they are now adults.

Sites that fail to comply with these guidelines will have to pay a penalty of 10 percent of their global revenue. The online security bill will be presented in court in the next few months. It is designed to protect users from harmful content.

Child safety groups have long called for age verification on porn sites. They fear that if this is not done, minors will easily have access to harmful online content. This can cause them great harm.

Parents are also worried about free access to porn sites. If the new law is implemented, parents will also be relieved from anxiety.

Strict measures have long been proposed in Britain to protect children from pornography. But work has been started in 2019. Studies have shown that in some cases, half of all 11- to 13-year-olds are addicted to pornography.

Experts say that children are facing unhealthy conditions. They are at risk of being sexually harassed.

Announcing plans for age verification, Digital Finance Minister Chris Phillips said that children should be given the opportunity to feel at peace with those parents who are safe online.

Websites that break the law will have to pay a fine. The regulator Ofcom can even block websites in the UK. From now on, all commercial porn sites will have to come under this rule.

The law was welcomed by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). However, he warns that this is not enough. The government must ensure the protection of children from anyone who seeks refuge in pornography.
