According to reports, a private plane crashed at the Mumbai airport amid heavy rain on Thursday (September 14) evening. At that time there were five passengers and three crew on the plane. Mumbai Municipal Corporation said that the injured in the accident have been rescued and taken to the hospital.
The director of the country’s civil aviation department said that the plane was removed from the runway after the accident.
ANI reported that five Vista Airlines aircraft were diverted after the accident. Of these, two flights from Banarasi and Bangkok were sent to Hyderabad and three flights from Delhi, Kochi and Dehradun to Goa.
Media NDTV reported that the accident took place on runway 27 of Mumbai airport. During this time the runway became slippery due to rain. At the time of the accident, the visual range of the runway was around 700 meters.
The CCTV footage of the accident has gone viral on social media. It was found that the plane hit the runway at Sajor during rain and it crashed.
