Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq said, “We cannot neglect science under any circumstances.” The contribution of science in the development of infrastructure of the country is immense. If engineers are not good, then the infrastructure of the country is not good, so science contributes the most to the development of the world.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the Divisional Science Olympiad-2022 organized by Bangladesh Academy of Sciences at Mongla Dvigraj Degree College on Friday (January 21) at 11 am.
Talukdar Abdul Khaleq said, “We want to introduce Bangladesh to the world as a developed country in 2041. In order to do that, every student of all educational institutions of the country should emphasize on science.” We can achieve success only if we can acquire knowledge of science.
Principal of Dvigraj College Tushar Kumar Gain presided over the function. Deputy Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Begum Habibun Nahar Talukder, Director of Secondary and Higher Education Khulna Region Prof. Sheikh Harun Rashid, Upazila Executive Officer Kamlesh Majumder, Upazila Chairman Abu Taher Hawlader, Rampal Upazila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Moazzem Hossain and other school and college teachers. Students and other leaders were present.
Addressing the students, the Deputy Minister and other speakers said, “Those of you who are studying in schools and colleges, you are our future.” So if you want to know about the country, you have to study science well. Science and civilization are intertwined, without science civilization would never have come. That is why the Prime Minister has emphasized on the ICT sector. The country has come a long way in this step.
