Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for a pre-scheduled public meeting in Ferozepur on Wednesday after a program in Hussainiwala, Punjab. Though he was supposed to land at Bhatinda Airport by helicopter, he left with his companions by road due to hostile weather. However, due to the farmers’ movement in the state, Modi’s convoy got stuck on a flyover. Modi had to return to the airport after about 15 to 20 minutes.

Even after the repeal of the controversial agriculture law, it is not clear exactly who was carrying out the movement, according to media reports. However, Narendra Modi left for a public meeting in Punjab with high hopes. In a tweet, Modi said he would meet farmers in Punjab and inaugurate the foundation stone of various development projects.

Though Narendra Modi spoke in a soft tone, the ruling BJP party has expressed strong anger over the incident. At the press conference, BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani said, “The Prime Minister had to stand for 20 minutes due to negligence in security. He demanded the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channy, saying such incidents had never happened before.

However, the Punjab chief minister denied the BJP’s allegations, saying “there was no negligence on the part of the state government in security.” He also claimed that Narendra Modi was looking for an excuse not to attend the rally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait in the first week of the new year. However, due to the Omicron situation, it was decided to postpone the tour for the time being.

According to the Hindustan Times, his visit was scheduled for January 8. However, due to the increase in the number of Omicron victims, the tour is being postponed for the time being. That visit is likely to take place next February.

Meanwhile, the hand of Omicron around the world. Omicron infections also occur in the United States and Europe. Omicron infection has also been found in India. However, compared to other countries, India still has some control over Omicron. About 600 people have been reported infected so far.
