Earlier, in a statement issued on the occasion of ‘Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) -2022’ yesterday (Friday, December 31), the Prime Minister said that the investment and business-friendly environment has been raised to a new level as a result of timely and prudent initiatives of the Awami League government. Bangladesh has now become an attractive destination for foreign investors and traders as well. We have made investment and exports a top priority.

He said that in recognition of the overall socio-economic development, Bangladesh has received the final approval of the United Nations to move from a least developed country to a dignified ‘developing’ country. We are working relentlessly to turn the country into the ‘Golden Bangladesh’ of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib’s hunger-poverty-free and prosperous dream by 2041. This requires a massive expansion of economic activity.

Sheikh Hasina also hoped that the fair would be able to expand trade, diversify products, attract foreign investment and play a helpful role in the development of the country.

The Prime Minister said the fair would create an opportunity for local and foreign entrepreneurs to inform the buyers about the competitive advantages of their products and new innovations. At the same time buyers will also get the benefit of purchasing products at competitive prices from this large event. By participating in this fair, local entrepreneurs will be able to improve the quality of their products as per the need and will try to make local products competitive in international trade.

He added that in the last two years, the world has been plagued by the deadly Kovid-19 epidemic, which has virtually slowed down trade. But even then, business activities have been kept going through timely and well-thought-out decisions of our government and the dynamism of export trade activities has been maintained with incentive packages.

“On this auspicious occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, I firmly believe that DITF-2022 will be able to generate deep interest and enthusiasm among local and foreign producers and buyers,” he said.
In the message, he wished the overall success of ‘Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2022’.
