On the second working day of the week, the country’s capital market index traded through the fall. On this day, the share price of all sectors including bank-insurance financial institutions has decreased.
On Monday (January 24), the main index of the country’s main capital market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell 53 points to 6,019 points. Meanwhile, the DSE Shariah Index has declined by 3 points and the well-established DS-30 Index has declined by 15 points.
Of the shares and units traded on the DSE, 61 rose, 280 declined and 39 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 1,213.46 crore have been traded on the DSE. Shares worth Tk 1,462.45 crore were traded on Sunday (January 23). As such, the transaction has decreased a bit compared to the previous day.
Leading companies today are Beximco BSc, Beximco Limited, Power Grid, British American Tobacco, Fuangfood, Apex Foot, Asia Insurance, BSCCL, Fortune Suz and Linde BD Limited.
The overall index CASPI of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), another capital market of the country, has decreased by 150 points and stands at 20,551 points. Shares of 304 companies were traded on the CSE. Of these, share prices of 64 companies rose, 206 fell and 32 remained unchanged.
