The Tigers were full of satisfaction on the second day as well as on the first day of the first Test against the host New Zealand. After the Kiwis were bowled out for 328 on Sunday (January 2), the visitors did well with the bat.

Sadman Islam got off to a great start with the bat at Bay Oval. He was well accompanied by the anointed Mahmudul Hasan Joy. They were progressing well after watching and playing. However, Sadman fell victim to Wagner before the tea break. He made 22 runs before returning to the dressing room.

Even after Sadman’s return, another opening batsman Mahmudul Hasan and three-man Nazmul Hossain were leading Shant Bangladesh. However, Wagner returned Nazmul for 64 runs. In the end Bangladesh lost 2 wickets and scored 175 runs.

Earlier, New Zealand started the second day with 256 runs for 5 wickets. However, the Blackcaps lost wickets at regular intervals due to the bowling prowess of Miraj-Shariful. On the second day, adding 60 runs, the hosts’ innings stopped at 326 runs. Miraj and Shariful both took 3 wickets each.

The first day of the Test against New Zealand at Mount Manganui was over on Saturday (January 1) with more than two overs to go. That’s when Tom Blandell was bowled in the inside corner of the bat for worship. That is why the end of the day’s game was announced. As a result, the Tigers finished the day with 2.3 overs left.
