Smartphone and Tab Expo-2022 has started in the capital to give the users of the country the opportunity to view and buy modern smartphones and tablet computers.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the three-day fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Thursday (January 8th).
At the same time, he said, for the first time in this event, there is an opportunity for all interested spectators to experience Five-G. Anyone can take this experience from Teletalk Bangladesh stall. Besides, I can proudly say that most of the smartphones involved in this event are being manufactured in Bangladesh.
Regarding the IT sector, Mostafa Jabbar said, “I have been working with the IT sector for the last 35 years. We have come a long way in the visionary thinking of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Hopefully we can go farther if we go that way.
He thanked the organizers for giving everyone the opportunity to experience the Five-G for the first time.
Mentioning that we launched Five-G in Bangladesh on December 12, the Minister said, “Today, on January 8, at the Smartphone and Tab Expo 2022, the people of Bangladesh will be able to experience Five-G directly for the first time.” I thank Teletalk and Huawei for this. Another hope is that in 2019, I saw that Huawei’s telecommunications sector has more than 5,000 patents. In Bangladesh we can use them effectively.
Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Technologies, Taoguanzio, said, “We are delighted to be able to participate in all types of activities from 2G to 5G in this advancement of Bangladesh.” From an investment efficiency standpoint, investing in digitization and telecom-ICT is 7.6 times more efficient than investing in other areas of ICT. Huawei has witnessed and participated in the unprecedented development of mobile communications in Bangladesh. In the future, we will unveil the Bangladesh Five-G Tuby Use case and help spread Five-G in the local community.
Mentioning that Five-G technology facility has been introduced in the country experimentally on 12 December, the managing director of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited Md. Sahab Uddin said, “We are very happy that through this event we are able to give the audience a chance to experience Five-G directly.” I urge everyone to take this experience at Teletalk’s stall.
Rezwanul Haque, CEO of Transition Bangladesh, said, “I can proudly say that all the brands participating in this event are made in Bangladesh.” Despite the intensity of the corona, smartphone sales in Bangladesh have increased and this indicates the progress of the smartphone market in Bangladesh.
Muhammad Khan, CEO of Maker Communications, the organizer of the fair, said, “We are happy to be able to organize this fair for all again.” This time, especially for the first time in the fair, there is an opportunity to experience Five-G. We have organized 35 fairs with this and we always want to give all new experiences to the visitors.
After the inauguration, the chief guest officially unveiled Samsung’s new Five-G flagship S-21FE model of mobile.
Visitors will be able to enter the fair for free. However, wearing a mask is mandatory.
