Today is World Children’s Cancer Day

World Children’s Cancer Day is celebrated around the world on February 15 every year. The day is celebrated to raise children’s awareness about cancer and to show support for their families.

World Child Cancer estimates that 200,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer each year. In middle-income countries, 60 percent are affected.

In developed countries, the survival rate of children with cancer is 80 percent. But in underdeveloped or middle-income countries, the rate is only 5 percent.

According to the agency, the death rate of children with cancer is currently rising alarmingly. In this situation, there are about 1.5 million children in our country who are suffering from cancer.

A child with cancer has to come to the hospital frequently for several months and stay in hospital for a long time. Sometimes the baby needs chemotherapy treatment and injections.

The life of a child suffering from cancer during treatment became miserable. So if the awareness about cancer in children increases, their mental health as well as physical health will improve.

A physician must be careful in treating a child with cancer. In this regard, experts believe that it is very important for a doctor to come up with an effective solution to reduce the effects of cancer on tenderhearted children.

Before treating a child, a doctor must be informed of what the doctor is going to treat and try to explain in simple terms what this means.

In this case, the expert advises to treat the child as less painful and child-friendly as possible. They are also considering the role of the family in the child’s recovery.
