Police have arrested two drug dealers along with yaba and cannabis in separate raids at Hili Hakimpur border and Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur.
They were arrested on Friday (January 21st) night. Police arrested a man named Abdur Razzak in a raid at his home in Balgari village of Bulakipur UP in Ghoraghat upazila. At that time 200 grams of cannabis was seized from him.
On the other hand, Shiuli Bewa was arrested from an area called South Basudebpur (Missionpara) on the Hili border. At that time, 150 pieces of yaba and heroin were seized from him.
The arrested drug dealers are Abdul Razzak, 98, son of late Nasir Uddin of Balgari village in Ghoraghat upazila and Shiuli Bewa, 54, wife of Abdul Manna Sheikh of Dakshin Basudebpur (Mission Para) village in Hili Hakimpur upazila.
Hakimpur-Ghoraghat Circle Officer Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Sharif Al Rajib confirmed the information on Saturday (January 22) morning.
He further told Samay News that on the basis of the news of drug trafficking, they raided the house of Razzak of Balgari village in Bulakipur UP of Ghoraghat upazila and arrested him along with 200 grams of cannabis. On the same night, another woman named Shiuli Bewa was arrested along with 150 pieces of yaba and 5 grams of heroin in a raid in South Basudebpur Missionpara area of Hili border of Hakimpur upazila.
Later on Friday night, the police filed a case against the drug dealer under the Narcotics Control Act. The police official also said that they would be sent to jail through Dinajpur court on Saturday.
