Victory Day celebrations in Malaysia

The Malaysia branch of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) has organized a discussion meeting and a cultural program on the occasion of the Great Victory Day and the golden jubilee of the victory of Bangladesh.

Engineer Sumon Ahmed, president of the organization, presided over the function held at the ballroom of Minara PGRM in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (December 26) evening.

Barrister Andalib Rahman Perth, Chairman of Bangladesh Jatiya Party BJP, was virtually attached as the chief guest in the program conducted by Anwar Hossain, General Secretary of the organization. Special guests were Sagir Ahmed Sujan, Pasha Khan, Abu Naeem, SM Safayet Hossain and Mohin Khan, Central Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Jatiya Party.
At the beginning, there was recitation from the Holy Quran, national anthem and a minute’s silence to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation war.

Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting, Barrister Andalib Rahman Perth said that this victory was achieved with the blood of millions of martyrs. The day is very happy for us but it involves a lot of sacrifice and self-sacrifice. We have lost our fathers, we have lost our mothers, our mothers and sisters have lost their dignity. It is very painful, very painful for us. I remember with deep respect and gratitude the heroic freedom fighters and immortal martyrs including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, for whose immense courage and sacrifice we are today the proud citizens of an independent country.

The big question now is to what extent we have been able to capture the true spirit of victory even after 50 years of independence or to realize the dream of our previous generation who took part in the liberation war directly. However, in order to realize that dream, democracy and the right to vote must be ensured to establish the basic rights of the people. So that we can take the country forward with the desired goal of the freedom fighters. Our dream will be to build a happy and peaceful non-communal Bangladesh; On the eve of Victory Day, let this be the dream story of the youth of the country and abroad.

Also present on the occasion were Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Malaysia Branch Co-President Delwar Hossain, Shah Alam, Shahidullah, Rakibul Islam Munshi, Co-General Secretary Mahabub Hasan Shahin, Organizing Secretary Sheikh Saiful Islam Rumi and others.
Later, the expatriates spontaneously participated in the cultural service and organized a pleasant cultural program. The program ended with the serving of traditional food of Bangladesh.
